This is in response to Mr. Al Eisner’s letter, “Look for your family’s tax bills to go way up during 2013,” published on Jan. 1.
Mr. Eisner mentions President Obama’s quest for the redistribution of wealth.
Well, I have news for you: If taxes go up it will not be because he wants each citizen to have an equal amount of money, but so that the government has more and more money to fund these ridiculous wars and continue to give military aid to some of the most aggressive and undemocratic countries on earth, a perfect description for some of our closest allies.
Believe me when I say that both the Democratic and Republican parties want this.
He also tells conservative Republican politicians to stand strong and not let the Bush tax cuts expire, which played a part in bankrupting our country plus if you are in the middle class, you will not be included in receiving any of these cuts.
Mr. Eisner mentioned that government spending is out of control. So why didn’t he mention anything about military spending?
The U.S. has thousands of troops stationed all throughout the world (including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and many more) where there is no reason for them to be.
Why should it be our priority to babysit these countries? Why shouldn’t they be able to protect themselves? The U.S. spends more on its military than the next 10 largest militaries combined.
I highly doubt cutting the military budget in half, which is what we need to do, will endanger the American people.
What Mr. Eisner and many disillusioned Democrats and Republicans fail to realize is that neither one of their parties actually cares about them. In the end, almost all of the politicians in Washington care more about what is best for their job, not what is best for the people who voted them into office.
I think it is time for people to snap out of it! Stop arguing that it is the fault of the Democrats or the fault of the Republicans that we are in this crisis.
It is both of them! Year after year we keep voting these people in office and hoping for different results. Anyone who continues to support either one of these parties has no clue what they are actually about.
They do not run to serve the people, only to make a name for themselves.

Town of Westernport needs a police force and a curfew
Since the consolidation of Bruce and Valley high schools the town of Westernport rapidly deteriorated from what was once a quite respectable community to a community in a decline in residents, and along with that came a collapse in local government due to lack of knowledge and bad decisions that set the town of Westernport back 60 years.
One bad decision was to give up their police force, and with no constant visual law enforcement it has created an open range for drug dealerss, addicts, thieves, drunks and speeding vehicles that choose to ignore our city laws and speed limits and have totally disregard for the safety of the citizens who are on the streets, especially the children who are like deer, you don’t see them until their in front of you. -
