She hopes other people got better results than she did
Last year, we felt we were very fortunate to have Nails repair the back wall of our home. My father had put new roofing on the house 27 years ago but forgot to put flashing on, and as the years went by rain and snow ran down along the walls and rotted the wood.
Nails, which I understand is an apprenticship project, helped us with the wall. I was shocked to see that they used the same rotten wood they took off the walls.
The 2X4s were not put in even. They only used very little insulation on the wall around the window, which was jammed and hard to open. I couldn't understand why I felt snow blowing in on me.
I am so glad I decided to have my bathroom remodeled, otherwise I never would have noticed the work Nails was supposed to do. We were shocked as you could see outside in some parts, you could see the vinyl siding and also the chimney in other parts.
I want everyone to know about this shoddy work. I have pictures of this wall also. I truly hope other people that used Nails got better service than we did.

A victory for historical and religious heritage
Christians won in the courtroom in recent weeks, while atheists advanced to ground zero, in the battle over God in the public square.

Ignition overlock is a better alternative to drinking, driving
Our Delegate Kevin Kelly seems to think that people convicted of drunk driving in Maryland are getting their “kneecaps broken” if they have to install a breathalyzer ignition device on their vehicle if it’s only a first offense.

Budgets, like baseball, need some regulations
With an insightful batter’s eye in “Let’s not forget who was responsible for starting this” (March 1 Times-News), Phillip Carder of Oldtown surely hit a bases’ clearing home run!

Unrighteous behavior reason for ‘heartfelt disagreement’
I am writing in objection to the stated sentiments in the article: “Maryland Religious leaders support Marriage Equality,” published in the Time-News on March 5 (paid advertisement, page 3B).

O’Malley forgets voters don’t want aid for nonpublic schools
What on earth is the matter with Gov. O’Malley? On March 3, he urged the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee to pass a bill to provide tax aid to faith-based and other private schools (Senate Bill 385).

People should know facts on stadium issue
Distortions and half truths are easy to produce by anyone who wishes to do so. This is amplified in Mr. Runion’s letter to the editor on Feb. 24 (“Mistakes are easily recognized by those who know the facts”).

Building of no use, but the site could serve many purposes
During the early 1970s, a truly historic building in Cumberland was demolished. Today, if still standing, it would be cherished by tourists and residents who appreciate relics of our heritage.
