Man dies in Pa. collision

SOMERSET, Pa. — A two-vehicle accident Tuesday on U.S. Route 30 in Quemahoning Township claimed the life of a Ligonier man and injured a Stoystown man, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Somerset.

Steven Sherback, 37, suffered fatal injuries in the 5:52 p.m. crash that occurred on Lincoln Highway several hundred yards north of Haines Road, according to Trooper Jeffrey Ely.

Robert Blough, 51, was taken to Conemaugh Medical Center in Johnstown for treatment of unknown injuries.

Police said Sherback was driving a Dodge Durango just east of the U.S. Route 219 interchange when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2010 Ford F-250 truck being drive by Blough.

Sherback was pronounced dead at the scene by Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller.
