OLDTOWN —One driver was killed and another escaped injuries in a head-on collision early Friday afternoon at Oldtown Road and the Cumberland Outdoor Road, according to the Allegany County 911 center.
Oldtown and Paw Paw first-responders and a county medic station from the Bowman’s Addition were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1 p.m.
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office investigated with the assistance of a Maryland State Police accident reconstruction specialist.
The 911 center said one driver succumbed to injuries and a second driver refused medical response.
Traffic through the area remained blocked at mid-afternoon as a result of the two-vehicle crash.
