CUMBERLAND — A vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 68 collided with a tractor-trailer on the Crosstown Bridge near the Maryland Avenue exit at 9:45 a.m. Monday.
The Allegany County 911 center had just broadcast an alert that a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the interstate near the 46-mile marker.
Cumberland police, fire and ambulance units responded along with the Maryland State Highway Administration.
Maryland State Police reportedly blocked traffic on eastbound I-68 at LaVale just after the crash occurred.
About 15 minutes later, a roll-over was reported at the entrance to the Cumberland Country Club.
