Vicki Coughlin’s 606/214 was the high of The Bowler ladies. Susan Pryor and Dawn House were next, rolling 594/221 and 590/227, respectively.

Melissa Snyder was the top lady at Wilson Lanes for the week, scoring 596/213. Julie Greene followed rolling 571/218.

Pam Brasky bowled 503/174 for the top lady at Sherwood Lanes.

Rick High was the area’s top senior bowler, rolling 642/244 at The Bowler. Brad Deter scored 560/206 at White Oaks and Jean Coleman bowled 443/178 at Sherwood Lanes.

Matt Riley was the area’s top youth scoring 623/257 at The Bowler. Tanner Smith rolled 591/230 at White Oaks and Danny Walch scored 586/231 at Sherwood. Jeff Hixenbaugh bowled 579/213 at Wilson and Charles Abernathy rolled 577/201 at Rainbow Lanes.

Most of the area bowling centers are showing very high scoring and as much as I would like to believe that it is because area bowlers are getting much better, I believe it is primarily the dry lane conditions and blocked oil patterns that are more repeatable lane to lane.

When the right ball drilling is combined with enough speed, a very wide target area is opened up for the strike zone. Accuracy should still be the goal of serious bowlers and consistently making single-pin spares is a fair measure of that performance.

Practice, practice, practice is still the way to improve in all areas of your game.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
