Chuck Parsons bowled a perfect game and a 748 set in the Monday Men’s League at Wilson Lanes.
Darren Durbin was the area’s top bowler for the week, rolling 760/258 in the Tuesday Men’s League at The Bowler. Travis Walters was next at that center scoring 735/268.
Tommy McDonald was the leading scorer at White Oaks, rolling 753/278. Troy Cubbage was a few pins back, bowling 749/265. Bobby Benton rolled a 287 game in his 717 set.
Parsons’ 748/300 was the high at Wilson Lanes, followed by Bill Kyle, rolling 741/279.
At Rainbow Lanes, C.P. Sines was the leader, scoring 739/264. Chance Jones was next, bowling 708/268.
Ryan Knieriem was the leader for the week at Sherwood, scoring 668/267. J.R. Monahan was next, rolling 657/234 and John Leptic Jr. bowled a 289 game in his 643 set.
At White Oak Lanes the PBA Experience League leaders were Mike Sipple’s 638/276, followed by A.J. Bishop’s 636/212 and Derek Yates’ 624/224.
Betty Gable was the area’s top lady bowler, rolling a big 246 game and 634 set. Autumn Gable was next high at that center, rolling 577/203.
At Rainbow Lanes, Pam Brinkman’s 624/235 was tops and Caryl Becker was next, rolling 533/184.
Vicki Coughlin’s 606/214 was the high of The Bowler ladies. Susan Pryor and Dawn House were next, rolling 594/221 and 590/227, respectively.
Melissa Snyder was the top lady at Wilson Lanes for the week, scoring 596/213. Julie Greene followed rolling 571/218.
Pam Brasky bowled 503/174 for the top lady at Sherwood Lanes.
Rick High was the area’s top senior bowler, rolling 642/244 at The Bowler. Brad Deter scored 560/206 at White Oaks and Jean Coleman bowled 443/178 at Sherwood Lanes.
Matt Riley was the area’s top youth scoring 623/257 at The Bowler. Tanner Smith rolled 591/230 at White Oaks and Danny Walch scored 586/231 at Sherwood. Jeff Hixenbaugh bowled 579/213 at Wilson and Charles Abernathy rolled 577/201 at Rainbow Lanes.
Most of the area bowling centers are showing very high scoring and as much as I would like to believe that it is because area bowlers are getting much better, I believe it is primarily the dry lane conditions and blocked oil patterns that are more repeatable lane to lane.
When the right ball drilling is combined with enough speed, a very wide target area is opened up for the strike zone. Accuracy should still be the goal of serious bowlers and consistently making single-pin spares is a fair measure of that performance.
Practice, practice, practice is still the way to improve in all areas of your game.

Lucien Paxton near perfect
Rainbow’s Lucien Paxton rolled a near perfect game scoring 695/299 in Tuesday’s Mixed League. He also bowled a 727/247 in the Men’s Civic League.
The area’s top bowler for the week was Rafael Clifford who posted 792/279. Clifford’s average is 178 and he missed an 800 set by only eight pins. Next high at White Oaks was Jack Hendershot’s 730/267. -
Shirey misses 800 set by a pin
Alex Shirey rolled big numbers for the week’s high in the area. Shirey scored 799/277 in White Oak’s Industrial League. A.J. Rice was next rolling 783/269. Rice is one of the best local two-handed bowlers that I know of.

Rob Shroyer bowled a near perfect 299 game and 707 set in White Oaks’ Tuesday Night Mixed League.

Kaylor rolls 289 game, 759 series
Keefe Kaylor rolled a big 289 game and 759 set at The Bowler to lead all area bowlers for the week. Kaylor’s score topped the list of eight 700’s at that center. Chad Taylor’s 733/251 was next high.

Sines & Simpson perfect at Rainbow
C.P. Sines and Todd Simpson both bowled perfect games in Rainbow’s Men’s Civic League. Sines was Rainbow’s top bowler for the week with a 766 set. Simpson scored 720/300. Rich Baker with a big score rolling 744/666.

Bob Greene’s 816 leads area
Bob Greene bowled a near-perfect 299 game and an 816 set at Wilson Lanes and was highest of the local area bowlers for the week. Scott Hixenbaugh was next high at Wilson, scoring 746/267. Clay Corbin rolled a big 290 game in his 707 set.
At The Bowler, Dave Yates set the week’s top mark, scoring 766/278. Tim Yutzy was next, rolling 715/269. -
Dudley rolls perfect game at Rainbow Lanes
Sinclair Dudley III rolled a perfect game and 781 set in Rainbow’s Men’s Civic League. Another perfect game scored at that center after skipping a week.
Chad Gable continues his hot streak at White Oaks. This week he had the area’s top score, bowling 821/279. Bobby Benton was next high at White Oaks rolling 727/279. -

Shirey, Yates both 785/300
Corey Shirey rolled a perfect game and a set total of 785 at The Bowler in the Friday Night County League. Derek Yates scored exactly the same 785/300 in Rainbow’s Civic League. Both of these bowlers have rolled previous 300’s.

Corbin rolls highest set, game of week
Clay Corbin was close to a perfect game, scoring 777/298 at Wilson Lanes, which was the week’s high for area bowlers. Craig Davis was next high at that center, rolling 768/279. Tommy McDonald bowled a 290 game in his 691 set.
