Smith rolls 300 game, Coughlin 700 set

— Troy Smith rolled another perfect game scoring 695/300 in the Thursday Night Mixed League at White Oak Lanes. Vicki Coughlin scored a 700 set at The Bowler.

Bobby Benton topped the area’s scoring for the week bowling 771/279 at White Oaks. Mike Brobst and A.J. Bishop were close behind each with 279 games and sets of 765 and 763, respectively.

Ron Fatkin had the top spot on The Bowler’s scoring list rolling 753/279. Dave Yates followed rolling 753/278. Bob Hickey scored a 289 game in his 676 set.

At Wilson Lanes, Bob Greene scored 737/221 for that center’s weekly high. Bill Kyle was next with 720/248.

Ryan Knieriem bowled 717/248 and claimed the Sherwood high. John Rowe followed scoring 685/249.

Nelson Guerin rolled 693/259 and was highest of the Rainbow bowlers. Adam Braithwaite was a couple pins back rolling 691/243. Billy Zacot scored a 296 game in his 680 set.

Benton was also the leader in the PBA Experience League at White Oaks bowling 708/254. Mike Sipple and Mike Brobst were next as Sipple scored 664/245 and Brobst rolled 659/247.

Vicki Coughlin was the area’s top lady bowler for the week scoring 703/267 at The Bowler; she also rolled a 693/243 during the week. Dawn House was next rolling 653/226.

Melissa Snyder scored 638/269 at Wilson Lanes for that center’s high. Pat Gwizdale followed rolling 556/200.

Michele Hitchens was the top lady at White Oaks for the week scoring 605/236. Betty Gable was next rolling 554/200.

Pam Brinkman bowled a big 279 game and 576 set for the high at Rainbow Lanes. Olive Thompson’s 556/215 was next high.

Vicki Day rolled 542/190 at Sherwood and Peach Rounds scored 523/202.

Senior Ray Foster bowled 692/279 at The Bowler and Brad Deter rolled 573/216 at White Oak Lanes.

Danny Walch was the area’s top youth bowler for the week rolling 625/225 at The Bowler. Tanner Smith bowled 619 at White Oaks and Charles Abernathy scored 597/203 at Rainbow Lanes. Justin Boyer rolled 548/195 at Wilson Lanes.

Some big scores were rolled in the WMUSBC Open Tournament that began last weekend at Berkeley Springs Bowlerama. The Tourney concludes this weekend.

Congratulations to all who supported the High School Bowling League’s Showcase Tournament. The teams worked hard to get all of the league games in despite the weather problems. The switch from Par-Matt to White Oaks removed some of the driving problems.
