This is the last weekly bowling column for the season but I may insert a column if I feel there is important bowling news to report.

The boys winners of the Youth High Average tournament were Charles Abernathy, 1093, and Seth Friend, 1035, with Nathan Lowery, 1018, as first alternate. The girls winners were Allison Eller, 827, and Caitlin Weems, 817, with Staci Fitzwater, 779, as first alternate. Two boys and two girls will go on to the state High Average tournament.

The Youth All-Star Tournament was held at Par-Matt Lanes on April 19. Teams from each local bowling center consisted of the top two averaged boys and the top two averaged girls. The teams bowl three scratch games across three different lane pairs.

The White Oak youth All-Stars placed first with a 2,104 total. The members of the White Oak All-Stars are: Tanner Smith (182 average), Mystie Benson (130), Kevin Patch (172) and Larissa Blizzard (182). The Berkeley Springs team took second place, rolling 2097. The high series for the girls was 534, bowled by Michele Fravel of Berkeley Springs. She also rolled the girls high game of 201. The Bowler’s Danny Walch bowled the game and series tournament highs of 256 and 625.

Third place went to the Rainbow Lanes team who bowled 2032.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
