Andy Alt added his name to the list of bowlers rolling perfect games in the 2009-2010 bowling season. I believe this is Andy’s first 300 in the adult leagues. He may have had one as a youth bowler. Crystal Uhl rolled a big 288 game and a 713 series.
Troy Smith was the area’s scoring leader for the week, rolling 773/269 at The Bowler. Buck Lease was next high, scoring 762/278, also in the County League. Tom Fairgrieve rolled a big 296 game in his 760 set and was third on the list.
Rodney Helsley held the top spot at Wilson Lanes for the week, bowling 752/279. Joe Buff, a couple pins back, rolled 750/279. Craig Davis was next, scoring 734/278.
At White Oak Lanes, Alt’s 743/300 was tops, followed by Jeremiah Howsare’s 736/252 and Troy Smith’s 734/265. Don Parsons rolled a 289 game in his 664 set.
Adam Braithwaite bowled 708/266 for the week’s high at Rainbow Lanes. Ernie Davis was next, rolling 635/227.
In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, A.J. Bishop was highest, scoring 626/234. Jeremiah Howsare and Chad Gable were next, rolling 606/222 and 602/216 respectively.
Uhl was the week’s top lady bowler, scoring a big 288 game and a 713 set. Vicki Coughlin was next high for the ladies, rolling 564/202.
Autumn Gable’s 588/214 was highest of the White Oak Ladies. Susan Pryor was next, scoring 557/188.
Betty Brown bowled 576/204 and Lou Dille rolled 561/223 at Rainbow Lanes.
Inella Zirk scored 566/209 for the top ladies’ score at Wilson Lanes.
John Corbin bowled 720/258 in the AARP Seniors League at The Bowler. Jack Klosterman was next in that league, rolling 647/242.
Dylan Bean rolled 662/234 at The Bowler and was the top youth bowler for the week. Danny Walch, also at The Bowler, rolled 642/255. Charles Abernathy bowled 623/249 at Rainbow Lanes.
This will be my last regular weekly column for this bowling season. There are some great deals (price wise) at your local centers for joining summer leagues. The summer is also a good time to try something new in your game. Do some experimenting, try out a different release. Get deadly on your spare shooting by serious practice.
Remember, the annual Western Maryland USBC meeting for all association members is Tuesday, June 8, 7 p.m., at White Oak Lanes. The president and secretary should represent your league at the meeting. Don’t forget!
Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
