Some of my readers continue to complain about not seeing their scores in the paper. To set the record straight, the editors at Times-News have the final say on what gets published and their concern is to compete with TV, Internet sites and other publications. Current events get top billing and the rest get in line depending on circumstances.

When my column was submitted on Jan. 19, the NFL playoffs were the lead story then heavy snowfall brought other problems when even the Sunday paper was not distributed until the Monday. Bowling was not close to being the top story of those following couple of weeks.

Summarizing the missed week’s highlights prior to January 19th At The Bowler: Crystal Uhl, Winchester Mxd – 678/238, Senior Ray Foster, Antique Srs. – 681/257; At Rainbow: Bryan Jose, Men’s Civic – 748/278; At Wilson Lanes: Bob Greene, Thur Men’s Dbls – 771/278, Craig Davis, Thur Men’s Trio – 736/300; White Oak Lanes: Troy Smith, Tues Nt Mxd – 753/278, Don Parsons, Industrial – 741/297.

To the complainers, get over it; appreciate the coverage we do get. Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
