BAKER, W.Va. — Moorefield and East Hardy advanced in the Class A, Region 2, Section 4 tournament and eliminated Tucker County in the process Thursday evening in high school softball.
Moorefield began the double-elimination tourney by beating Tucker 10-0. East Hardy eliminated the Mountain Lions by winning 8-1.
Moorefield plays at East Hardy tonight at 7 o’clock. The teams meet again Saturday, at 7 p.m., at Moorefield. A third game, if necessary, would be Monday night at East Hardy.

Tucker County 0
Madeline Elmore fired a one-hit shutout and had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Yellow Jackets.
Elmore doubled and singled, Haley Arose had a single and two RBIs and Brooklyn Weese a single and three RBIs for Moorefield (9-13).
Elmore allowed only a fourth-inning single, walked four and struck out five.
East Hardy 8
Tucker County 1
Emily Biller, Lauren Orndorff and Ashley Dove combined for six hits and seven runs batted in to power East Hardy past Tucker County.
The Cougars (14-3) led by just 2-1 before blowing it open with a six-run sixth inning.
Biller doubled, singled and knocked in four runs, while Orndorff doubled, singled and drove in two. Dove had a pair of singles and one RBI.
Molly Look scattered eight hits, walked one and fanned four for the win.
