SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Frankfort scored six times in the sixth inning to turn the tide on Moorefield and even its record with a win over the Yellow Jackets.
Moorefield scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the third, and held a 2-1 lead until it added a run in the top of the sixth. The Falcons used a combination of walks and base hits to score six times in the bottom half, and Jennifer Pyles kept Moorefield quiet in the seventh to preserve the victory.
Savannah Hose and Taylor Rice both hit two singles, and Allie Lantz added a triple. Victoria McBride finished the day with a double.
Rice got the start for the Falcons, and along with Pyles and Kristi Salonish, limited Moorefield to five singles.
Markwood recorded five strikeouts for Moorefield.
Frankfort (6-6) plays tonight, 4:30, at Bishop Walsh.
