FROSTBURG — Kelsey Robertson had 13 strikeouts while yielding just one hit and allowing no walks in Mountain Ridge’s 13-0 win over Bishop Walsh Monday afternoon in Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference.
Robertson’s teammates gave her plenty of support on offense. Danielle McGinnis rocketed a three-run home run in the fourth inning, and added a double and a single. Miranda Nicol hit two singles and Keri Bean hit a single and scored three runs.
The Miners finished with eight hits as a team, and got help from 11 walks by the Spartans pitching.
Anne Mathews had the lone hit for Bishop Walsh.
The Miners (2-0, 2-0 AMAC) will play at Keyser today at 4 p.m. Bishop Walsh (1-3, 0-3 AMAC) plays Northern at home this evening at 5:15.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Morgan Snyder hit a two-run home run in the third inning to lead Frankfort past Northern Monday at Frankfort in an AMAC contest.
Raven Bierman doubled and singled for Frankfort, while Jackie Meyers had two singles for the Falcons.
For Northern, Manges had two singles.
Frankfort (2-2 overall, 1-1 AMAC) plays today, 4:30 p.m., at Berkeley Springs. Northern (0-3, 0-3) hosts Bishop Walsh today.
Northern won Monday’s junior varsity game, 8-6.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser broke a 5-all tie with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat the Southern Rams Monday afternoon at Keyser High School.
Both teams finished with four hits and both starting pitchers — Meghan Anderson for Keyser and Alycia Horner for Southern — finished with 10 strikeouts. the teams combined to commit seven errors, with the Rams getting four.
Alicia Cuthbertson had two of Keyser’s hits with two singles. Brooke Mangold and Katelyn Ray had the other two hits, both singles. Southern’s Horner was also the team’s leading hitter with a double and a single. Kelsi Graham and Kim Michaels each had a base hit.
Keyser (2-1) hosts Mountain Ridge today while Southern (2-1) visits Mountain Ridge Tuesday, April 7.

Salisbury 1
SALISBURY, Pa. — Berlin got only six hits, but used 11 walks from Salisbury pitchers to score 14 runs to beat the Elks in five innings.
Sami Johnson went 2-for-2 with two singles and two runs batted in, and Sara Wagner had an RBI single. Ashley Phillips, Melissa Paul and Justine Keefer also added RBI singles.
Megan DeMartino struck out 11 batters and walked three while allowing four hits for the win.
Gabrielle Garlitz hit a RBI single for the Elks’ lone run.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Corrine Fike and Felicia Beeman collected three hits each to help lead Southern to a win over Keyser in jayvee softball.
Kendra Hardesty and McKenzie Rafferty combined no-hit the Golden Tornado through five innings The two combined for seven strikeouts.
Fike had two doubles and a single for the Rams, while Beeman had two singles and a double.
Keyser’s Haupt recorded six strikeouts in the loss.
Southern had a nine-run rally in the fourth inning, and added four more runs in the fifth before the game as called because of time.
The Rams (3-0) will play Wednesday at Frankfort.

Allegany 1
CUMBERLAND — Courtney Koelker earned winning pitcher honors to go along with her triple and single as Fort Hill bettered Allegany in jayvee action Monday at Northcraft Field.
Koelker struck out nine and allowed only four hits in picking up the win, while her counterpart Stephanie Dawson got eight strikeouts in the loss.
Mary Valentine, Emily Anderson and Madie Wilson all finished with a pair of singles for the Sentinels. Allison McIntyre tripled.
Lindsie Linaburg had a RBI single for the Campers.
Fort Hill (2-0) will play Bishop Walsh on Wednesday.

FROSTBURG — Amber Ravenscraft homered, Liz Diamond doubled, Shayna Stowell tripled and Maggie Wilson had two singles to lead the Mountain Ridge junior varsity over Bishop Walsh Monday at Mount Pleasant Field.
Lindsey Lancaster struck out nine to get the win for Mountain Ridge. For the Spartans, Maxie Gilmore had two singles.
Mountain Ridge (2-0) will play today, 4:30 p.m., at Keyser.
