CONFLUENCE, Pa. — Erin McGee struck out 12 and allowed only two hits as Bishop Walsh pulled away from Turkeyfoot for a 14-7 win Friday in Confluence.
Sophie Bambacus finished with two doubles and a single, while Ashley Fuzie hit an RBI double.
Ann Mathews, Catie Taylor, Alice Helmstetter and Ashley Turnbull all added two singles, with Turnbull driving in three runs.
Early inning walks from both sides helped lead to a 5-5 tie after the first inning. The Rams took a 7-6 lead into the third inning before the Spartans scored eight times from there for their first victory.
R. Nickelson had a three-run triple in the first inning, and K. Coscheck had Turkeyfoot’s last hit in the second.
Bishop Walsh (1-1) will play Fort Hill today at 1 p.m. at Riverside. The jayvees will follow.
