Times-News wins two, evens record

— POTOMAC PARK — Times-News used a 6-run fourth inning to separate itself from Hite Roofing and collect a 9-4 win at Holler Field.

Eli Souders finished with four hits, a triple and three singles, and Chris Kendall added three singles to a Times-News team that finished with 17 hits. Aaron O’Rourke added a triple and a single, while Nick Corbett and Zach Ward each singled twice.

Times-News used seven hits (six singles and a triple) and an error to score six times in the fourth.

Cody Parsons led Hite with two singles.

In a 13-9 win over Personal Best/KMK Insurance, Souders, Kendall, O’Rourke and Jacob Foreman combined for 10 strikeouts as Times-News evened its record to 3-3.

Foreman crushed two home runs and added a double and a single for four RBIs. Souders singled three times and Conner O’Rourke contributed a double and a single. Zach Steckman added a double, and Aaron O’Rourke hit a pair of singles.

Personal Best got a triple from Tyler Kimmel, a double from Matt O’Reilly and two singles from Brent Parrish.

Times-News will play Casselman Valley today at Holler Field. KMK is at Frankfort on Monday to play Fort Ashby VFW.
