Robin J. “Cookie” Evans [Short Gap]

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Robin J. “Cookie” (Cook) Evans, 52, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at her residence.

Born on Aug. 18, 1957, she was the daughter of William H. and stepmother Sheri Cook, Cumberland, and Joann Cook, Potomac Park, Cumberland.

She was preceded in death by her only loving brother, Robert W. Cook on Aug. 17, 2006.

In addition to her parents, surviving are her loving daughter, Gwyn R. Evans, at home; twin sisters, Donna McIntyre, Fort Ashby, Deanna Phillips, Cumberland, Cindy and Rick Palmer, Martinsburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School class of 1975. She lived in Flagstaff, Ariz., for over 17 years, where she worked for Purina and Walgreen’s.

She loved the computer, reading, gardening and being outdoors. She loved to cook for her family and her friends including her dearest friends Forrest, Sue and Tara Campbell. Robin always made people laugh. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

At Robin’s request, she will be cremated. There will be no viewing.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date.

Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., (scarpellifuneralhomes.com) is handling the arrangements.

An account has been set up for Gwyn Evans’ college education, all donations to be sent to 11815 Bayberry Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502, c/o Martha J. Cook and Deanna L. Phillips.
