Comedy show next Friday at Windsor Hall
CUMBERLAND — Comedian Tom Anzalone and headliner David Kaye, known as Pittsburgh’s King of Comedy, will give a stand-up comedy performance at Windsor Hall at Town Centre Friday, Feb. 12.
The show, part of the Love and Laughter Comedy Tour, is being presented by Slapsticks Productions LLC.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.
The comedy veterans will examine the extremes people go to in their pursuit of the ”happily ever after” with over-the-top tales of relationships gone awry and finding the “perfect” mate. Kaye breathes life into his imaginary characters with what can be only described as a frenetic “one man comedy troupe.” Anzalone brings his guitar, props and musical talent to the stage and lampoons love with song parodies and “ridiculously exaggerated” celebrity impressions.
Anzalone’s television appearances include “America’s Funniest People” (ABC) and the Showtime Comedy Club Network. In addition, he has been profiled on radio’s “All Things Considered” (NPR).
He has performed at New York City’s Laugh Factory, Atlantic City’s and Las Vegas’ Tropicana Hotels and in more than forty states. In addition, he has entertained passengers on the Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines.
Anzalone enlisted for Comics on Duty, a series of shows for troops stationed stateside.
He has “opened” shows for comedian Bobcat Goldthwait and the musical group Chicago.
Kaye, who shares tales of his dysfunctional family affairs and blue-collar upbringing in Pittsburgh. As the last child born to a Polish steel mill worker and a Ho Jo’s waitress, his wry recollections of life as the “baby brother” are candidly funny.
His tongue-in-cheek observations have continued to set off laughter and applause in corporate boardrooms, college rathskellers, and nightclubs throughout the country for nearly 20 years. A former mechanical engineer and more recently, trained thespian, Kaye smartly lampoons life with countless comical vignettes.
Acting as narrator and cast, he morphs into a one-man comedy troupe using manic mannerisms, outlandish dialects, and contorted facial expressions to convey vividly funny living snapshots of his many off-the-wall characters.
Kaye’s many credits include performances with Weird Al Yankovic, Richard Jeni, David Brenner, and Drew Carey. Along with numerous television appearances on ABC, Comedy Central, dozens of commercials and industrial films, and a starring role in the independent films, ”Creep” and “Saffronia.”
A free overnight stay at Fairfield Inn (based on availability) and dinner for two at Ristorante Ottaviani’s (reservations required) will be offered on the night of the event based on a ticket drawing. Ticket holders must be present at the event to win.
Tickets are available for general reserved and premium reserved seating.
