FROSTBURG — Bill and Carolyn Bond of Frostburg are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Abbey Alexandra Bond, to Braxten Ray Brodie, son of Trina and Creade Brodie Jr. of Vale Summit.
Abbey is the granddaughter of Jim and Eleanor Wiebrecht of Frostburg and Arthur Bond and Pat Bond, also of Frostburg.
Braxten is the grandson of Ray and Trudy Whitacre of LaVale and Maxine and Creade Brodie Sr. of Vale Summit.
The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School and a 2011 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland, with an associate of science degree in nursing. She is currently employed as a charge nurse at Premiere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville, N.C.
The groom-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School. He is currently serving as a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He returned from a one-year tour of duty in Helmand Province, Afghan-istan, in February.
The couple will exchange vows on Aug. 18, 2012, at Ridgeview Valley in McHenry. A reception will follow at the same location.
