CUMBERLAND — On Dec. 20, 2005, Michael Allen Hurst proposed to Valerie Sue Wright. He had her ring served up on the dessert tray at their favorite restaurant, When Pigs Fly. Together with their parents, they are pleased to announce their forthcoming wedding.
Valerie is the daughter of Gene and Joretta Wright, Cumberland. She is a graduate of Allegany High School and The Center for Career and Technical Education. She is currently employed at Hunter Douglas Fabrication NE.
Michael is the son of Jack and Gloria Hurst, Punta Gorda, Fla. He is a graduate of Clear Spring High School. Mike also served in the United States Navy for nine years. He is currently employed at Hunter Douglas Fabrication NE, the Cumberland YMCA, and also as a soccer referee for Maryland and West Virginia high schools.
A casual wedding is being held on May 30, 2009, at Canal Place in beautiful Downtown Cumberland. A reception will follow at the Ridgeley Fire Hall, Ridgeley, W.Va.
