Elizabeth Kegg, an eighth-grader at Bishop Walsh School, is the winning artist in the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the LaVale Lions Club. She competed against 18 middle school students in the local competition and placed fourth in the Lions District 22W contest among entries from 12 other schools in the five-county area of Western Maryland. The poster was selected for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, “The Power of Peace.” Kegg received a gift card and framed certificate at a dinner with her parents at a recent LaVale Lions Club meeting.
