The law has nothing to do with what we can call our parents

In response to Richard Burkhart’s recent letter (“No more Father’s Day or Mother’s Day? It’s coming,” Oct. 2 Times- News):

All God’s children will call their parents what their parents train them to do. Since when does the state tell anyone what to call each other? Legal/schmegal!

You may have two ma’s, two pa’s, an oom-pa and a me-maw. If you have gay parents who live in West Virginia south of Oldtown, you can call them your Paw-Paws.
