To the citizens of the of Ridgeley: Recently there have been articles about me in the Mineral Daily News-Tribune and Cumberland Times-News about misuse of the town purchase card.
I did indeed use the card on several occasions either leaving or returning on trips representing the town.
However, there was never any thought given by myself of being dishonest as I turned in the receipts to the town after determining that the use of the P-Card was inappropriate.
I have stopped using and turned the card over per the wishes of the town pending the outcome of the audit. I have reimbursed the town for the purchases.
I am cooperating fully in the investigation and instructed the town employees to cooperate upon completion of the investigation.
I will take the appropriate action deemed necessary resulting from the investigation. I am willing to meet with any citizen who would like to address this issue.
