I agree with Jeff Robinette (“Eyesore no way to greet visitors,” Oct. 19 Times-News), maybe it is time to let the Footer building go.
Auction what you can from the building and tear it down. The Footer building is probably a deterrent for people to visit Canal Place, due to the age and looks of the building. It isn’t appealing at all.
Color plays a major part in attracting people, and if buildings such as the Footer building and even area businesses do not have the landscaping, the upkeep or the color design, then the draw of the people won’t come.
It’s time to take Industrial Boulevard a bit more seriously with a makeover starting with the area businesses to the CSX railroad, to Canal Place. Maybe blessing it with a new name.
