Nativity necessities

Mike Nicholson from the city’s Parks and Recreation Department prepares the stable area of a nativity with straw Monday afternoon as work begins on the Christmas display at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at the intersection of Greene and Washington streets. Workers have been assembling the display and decorating the tree that overlooks the city for more than 30 years, and the Parks and Rec department also helps with the annual tree lighting and the South Cumberland Halloween Parade.
