Leisa Glotfelty of Bi-Coastal Mortgage will present a seminar on Reverse Mortgages Thursday, Dec. 4, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the Cumberland Senior Center, Frederick Street. Lunch will be available and a discussion will follow dessert.

The 1940 graduating class of Beall High School will hold its Chrsitmas luncheon Thursday, Dec. 4, at noon at the Sand Spring Steak House and Saloon, Main Street, Frostburg.

The Allegany High School class of 1950 will hold its annual Christmas dinner Thursday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hill Bed and Breakfast, U.S. Route 40.

The annual Tri-Towns Christmas Parade is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m. The line-up will start in Piedmont in the vicinity of the Piedmont Fire Hall. The parade will then move through Piedmont, across the bridge to Westernport and down Main Street, disbanding at the Carl Belt Building.

Any group or organization wishing to participate should fill out an application and return it to the town of Westernport. Applications may also be picked up at the clerk’s office in Westernport, Piedmont and Luke.

Southern Gospel artists The Hoppers, Madison, N.C., will be in concert Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at Frankfort High School, Short Gap, W.Va.

The Hopper’s have been singing Southern Gospel Music for 50 years and have won numerous awards for Favorite Mixed Group. Kim Hopper has been voted Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Soprano and Connie Hopper was voted Favorite Alto. The family group consist of Claude and Connie Hopper, Dean and Kim Hopper and Mike Hopper.

The Salvation Army will hold a giveaway Friday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will include “previously loved” toys.

The event is open to the public and clients are to bring their own bags.

The Keyser High School class of 1956 will hold its Christmas luncheon Friday, Dec. 5, at 11:30 a.m., at Hamburger Haven, McCoole. Those attending are to bring a $1 jingle gift.

The Cumberland Choral Society will present its first holiday concert Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Vocke Road, LaVale. Handel’s “Messiah” will be performed with keyboard, trumpet, cello and local soloists.

The event is free and open to the public and the site is handicapped accessible.

The 13th annual PSC Holiday Festival and Craft Show will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dana G. Lough Gymnasium, Potomac State College, Keyser, W.Va.

The festival features 62 vendor spots, food and entertainment. There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and a white elephant table. Santa will visit and parents can bring their cameras and take pictures.

The festival benefits Toys for Joy, formerly Toys for Tots.

The Frankfort District Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas open house Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stewart’s Tavern and Inn Log House, Short Gap, W.Va.

A Christmas bazaar will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodman of the World Lodge, Virginia Avenue, Cumberland.

Crafts and food will be available from several vendors.

The Mount Savage Historical Society will hold its Santa’s Workshop Saturday, Dec. 6, from 1 to 8 p.m. in the historic Union Mining Company Building on Foundry Row, Mount Savage. Children of all ages can visit with Santa, the Toymaker Elves and Frosty the Snowman. Model trains also will be on display.

Those attending are to bring a non-perishable item for the food pantry.

Admission and refreshments are free.

An all-you-can-eat pancake dinner to benefit the Frankfort Girls Summer Soccer Camp will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Fort Ashby Fire Hall, Fort Ashby, W.Va. The menu will include buckwheat, buttermilk or banana pancakes, Wayne’s sausage or bacon, fruit cup and beverage.

The Casselman Valley Sportsmen’s Club, U.S. Route 40, west of Grantsville, will hold an all-you-can-eat buckwheat and pancake supper Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will include buckwheat or pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy and beverage.

Fountain Volunteer Fire Company will hold a baked steak dinner, Sunday, Dec. 7, beginning at noon at the fire hall, state Route 46, Fountain, W.Va. The menu will include homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, apple sauce and dessert.

Fort Cumberland Post 13 will host a fundraiser Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the post home. Music will be provided by Johnny Moore.

More than 12 different health screenings and services will be offered, including vision, hearing, body mass index, prescription brown bag, oral cancer and blood sugar. The seminar is free and open to all tri-state seniors 62 years of age and older.

Frostburg SHIP will hold food distribution Thursday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Frostburg Moose Lodge 348, 210 W. Main St.

The program is for low-income, senior citizens or the unemployed. Proof of income is required and applications are available on distribution day.
