FROSTBURG — Frostburg State University swept Stevenson University in a non-conference doubleheader on Senior Day Sunday for its fourth sweep at Bobcat Field this season.
FSU rallied for a 4-2 game one win and held on for a 2-1 victory in the second.
In the opener, the Bobcats (23-14) trailed 2-0 through the first four and a half innings before plating the decisive four runs in the bottom of the fifth. With two outs in the frame, FSU senior Jayme Miller singled home the first run followed by a two-run triple from junior Lindsay Freitag that gave the Bobcats a 3-1 lead. Freshman Beth Whitehead recorded the final run with a single to center that scored Freitag.
Junior Katelyn Coffey earned her ninth win after tossing seven innings, scattering nine hits and allowing just one earned run.
In the second game, freshman starter Megan Magee worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the sixth to help FSU earn a 2-1 victory.
Frostburg State scored two runs in the bottom of the second on back-to-back singles to left field from Magee and Miller.
Magee finished with six strikeouts while allowing six hits and one unearned run for her 14th win.
Miller finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored while Freitag was 2-for-7 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Frostburg State travels to Pitt-Greensburg today for the completion of a doubleheader that ended due to darkness earlier this season.

CUMBERLAND — Harford’s Sarah Cooley limited Allegany College to six its in the first game and then the Fighting Owls made the most of their 18 hits to outlast the Trojans in the second game for the sweep Sunday at Cavanaugh Field.
The Trojans end their season 4-14 overall and in the Maryland JUCO.
In the opening game, Cooley had five strikeouts while teammates Cherish Deaver went 3-for-4 with a double and Sarah Morrill was 2-for-4 with a triple.
Renee Musselman led the Trojans with a double while going 2-for-3. Jamie Norris was 2-for-3 with a base hit.
In the second game, Harford scored in every inning and led 12-2 before the Trojans scored six runs in the fifth to pull within four runs. Harford, however, outscored Allegany 4-1 the rest of the way.
Lauren Springel led the Owls with a double and a triple and two RBIs. Cooley tripled and had two base hits with an RBI.
Musselman again led Allegany with a triple and a base hit and Tamara Metz and Kayla Fout each had a single and a double in four at bats.
Both starting pitchers, Harford’s Katie Irwin and the Trojans’ Courtney Taylor went the distance and each finished with two strikeouts.
