UPPER MARLBORO — Allegany College scored six runs in the first inning and held on in the seventh to win the opener, and received 12 bases on balls in the nitecap for a 10-9, 10-5 sweep of Prince George’s Friday afternoon.
In the opener, Monica Rosenstel hit a triple and two singles, Kayla Fout had three singles and Jamie Norris two singles for the Trojans, who led 8-1 after three innings.
Janie Randle and Sherice Dillard went 3-for-4 for Prince George’s, which had the potential winning run on base in the bottom of the seventh, but AC pitcher Courtney Trainor got out of the jam and escaped with the victory.
In the second game, the Trojans had just six hits, but also drew a dozen walks to complete the sweep.
Trainor and Rosenstel had two singles for Allegany. Meredith Winger tripled, doubled and singled for the Owls.
