Catonsville sweeps ACM

CUMBERLAND — A seven-run second inning gave Catonsville a 10-2 lead, and it would go on to win 23-3 over Allegany before completing the sweep of the Trojans with a 12-2 win in game two Friday.

Desiree Sullivan hit a fourth inning home run to highlight a game where she hit for the cycle. Megan Gravell finished with three hits with a third-inning homer, a double and a single.

Catonsville scored its 23 runs on 25 hits.

Martina Kurtz went 2-for-3 with a triple and a single, and Monica Rosenstel added a double and a single.

Gravell struck out seven in a complete-game win.

Shannon Strube and Autumn Heren both finished with three singles as the Cardinals totaled 11 hits in the second game win.

Kurtz hit a triple, and Kayla Musselman struck out five for ACM in the loss.

The Trojans (2-8) play a doubleheader today at Dundalk beginning at 11 a.m.
