Potomac powers past Erie

KEYSER, W.Va. — Potomac State scored 10 runs in one inning in an 11-0 first-game win and scored in every inning in a 13-5 victory in the nitecap to complete a sweep of Erie Community College in college softball on Tuesday.

In the opener, the Catamounts turned a 1-0 game into an 11-0 rout with a 10-run third inning. Catcher Kayla Watts hit a two-run home run and Lisa Barry and Brittany Kolb had two doubles to highlight the big inning.

Aaryka Anglin allowed just two hits, walked two and struck out six in getting the win in the five-inning contest.

Kayla Stickel belted a two-run homer in the fifth inning to end the second game.

Samantha Haines and Shelia Armel doubled and singled for the Catamounts (16-10). Stickel, who did not allow an earned run, got the win.

Kristen Ball doubled for Erie.

Potomac State hosts Westmoreland today at 3 p.m.
