FROSTBURG — Katelyn Coffey pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Frostburg State past La Roche in the first game of an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheader.
La Roche came back to take game two, 9-1.
In the opener, Coffey walked only one and struck out six .
Kelly Filipowicz and Kaitlyn Wagner went 2-for-3 and Kathryn Claeys doubled for Frostburg State (9-14, 2-5).
In the second game, Claire Vellente went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for La Roche.
Amanda Baldwin hit an RBI double and Filipowicz again went 2-for-3.
FSU plays at Hilbert in a 1 p.m. conference twinbill on Saturday.
