Potomac State cruises to victories

MCHENRY - Potomac State had little trouble against Garrett on Tuesday, racking up 41 hits and 33 runs in a 17-0, 16-1 sweep of the Lakers.

Winning pitcher Ashley Metcalfe homered in the first game and Ashly Sites, the winner in the second game, had four hits in the nitecap to lead the Catamounts.

In the opener, Metcalfe homered during a seven-run third, and added a single. On the mound she rang up six strikeouts in three innings.

Sites finished with a double and two singles, and Sam Patton and Jen Shuke doubled and singled.

Mindy Sharp had two of the Lakers' three hits, oth singles.

In the nitecap, Sites added four singles and recorded five strikeouts and issued two walks in getting the win in the mound.

Metcalfe finished with two triples and Morgan Mitchell had a double and two singles. Morgan Shockey singled three times.

Emily Sisler had two hits, including a double, for Garrett.

Potomac (14-8) plays a make-up game today at 3 p.m. at Cecil.
