Benchmark Orthotics & Prosthetics earns accreditation awards
CUMBERLAND — Benchmark Orthotics & Prosthetics, 808 E. Oldtown Road, has received a three-year accreditation award in orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics Inc.
Benchmark is recognized for achievements in the areas of organizational management, patient care standards, quality assurance, supplier compliance and facility and safety management. The award represents the highest level of accreditation achievable in the profession of orthotics and prosthetics.
Benchmark has been offering orthotic and prosthetic services in the Cumberland area since 2006.
A nonprofit organization headquartered in Alexandria, Va., ABC has been credentialing practitioners and organizations since 1948 in accordance with established standards of excellence in the deliver of comprehensive patient care.

Kohl’s accepting nominations for scholarship program
CUMBERLAND — Marking the 10th anniversary of its Kohl’s Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program, Kohl’s Department Stores will award more than $410,000 in scholarships and prizes, ranging from $50 Kohl’s gift cards to 10 $10,000 scholarships, recognizing youths who make a difference by volunteering in their communities.
Nominations for children 6 to 18 years old will be accepted through March 15 at visit www.kohlskids.com.
Nominators must be 21 years or older. Two nominees from each of Kohl’s 1,059 stores nationwide will win a $50 Kohl’s gift card, and more than 190 of them will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education.
This year, Kohl’s is increasing the national winner scholarships where 10 national winners will each receive $10,000 in scholarships.
Kohl’s will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each winner’s behalf.
Ronald Junkins Pilgrim’s Pride Dec. Partner of Month
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Ronald Junkins has been honored as the December “Partner of the Month” for the Pilgrim’s Pride Moorefield fresh plant.
Junkins works in the shipping department on day shift and has worked for the company for 13 years.
Daniel Smith, Junkin’s supervisor, said, “Ron has excellent attendance. He always lets me know in advance when he needs to schedule time off and he is willing to work on weekends or stay late if needed. He is willing to perform any job and will help anyone he can.
The “Partner of the Month” is a program that has been implemented to recognize employees for their outstanding merit and work ethic. Employees in the program have exhibited outstanding work characteristics.
