SALISBURY, Pa. — Zach Clites scored an unassisted goal during the second minute of overtime to lift Hyndman past Salisbury, 4-3, in high school boys soccer Tuesday night.
Both teams held one-goal leads during regulation, and Clites game-winner came just 1:35 into the extra period.
Zach Logsdon had two goals for Hyndman and Justin Bryant had two for Salisbury, including one that forced overtime with 6:24 left in the second half.
Logsdon scored first, unassisted, at 29:31 of the first half for the Hornets. Matt McKenzie, on an assist from Bryant, tied it just 25 seconds later.
Bryant snapped a 1-1 halftime tie with a goal off a pass from Ben Podlesnik, giving the Elks the lead with 26:20 remaining in regulation.
Hyndman’s Coty Zimmerman tied it with an unassisted goal and Logsdon gave Hyndman a 3-2 lead on a feed from Clites with just over 10 minutes to go.
Bryant’s goal on another Podlesnik assist knotted it 3-3 and forced the overtime.
Both teams got off 20 shots and Hyndman led in corner kicks 6-3. J.R. Bluebaugh made 13 saves for Salisbury and Tyler Jamison had 11 for Hyndman.
Salisbury finished the season 4-8-2. Hyndman, 11-6, will play Saturday in the Pennsylvania District 5 playoffs.
