CUMBERLAND — Jeff Zilinski scored two unassisted goals and Vince Turano scored two in the second half that broke a 2-2 en route to St. Maria Goretti defeating second-ranked Bishop Walsh 4-2 Wednesday afternoon at Brother Stephen F. Paul Stadium at Bishop Walsh School.
Zilinski’s first — and the game’s first goal — came at the 25:54 mark of the first half. He scored six minutes later to give Goretti a 2-0 lead.
The Spartans’ Matt Kelley scored the next two goals to tie it. His first goal came at the 10:09 mark of the first half and his tying goal was scored at the 30:42 mark of the second half.
Turano’s goals were four minutes apart. His first was at 21:14 and the last at 17:39.
Goretti outshot BW 19-15 and led in corner kicks, 5-1.
BW’s Brandon Kimble made 11 saves and John Liwanski stopped nine for the Gaels.
The Spartans finish the regular season 15-4 and will partcipate in the state playoffs in a round robin format beginning Saturday at the Hagerstown Soccer Complex in Searfoss.

Rockwood 1
ROCKWOOD, Pa. — Salsibury scored a goal late in the first half, and early in the second, in getting a 2-1 win over Rockwood Wednesday night.
Ben Poslesnik was assisted by Matt McKenzie with just over two minutes left in the first half. Five minutes into the second half it was McKenzie assisting Justin Bryant for the second goal.
Rockwood would get a goal from Cody Sterner at 22:22, but would not be able to get the tying goal.
J.R. Blubaugh had 10 saves for the Elks, while Tyler Zelenskie made 12 for Rockwood.
Salisbury (4-7-1) plays again tonight at 7 p.m. when it hosts Berlin.

EVERETT, Pa. — Coty Zimmerman scored two goals and Jordan Bingman had a goal and two assists as Hyndman beat host Everett on Wednesday night.
All the scoring was in the first half. Bingman booted the first goal unassisted at the 34:55 mark.
Zimmerman’s first goal came on a Bingman assist with 22:13 left in the half. Zach Logsdon made it 3-0 with a Bingman pass at 21:20, and Zimmerman concluded the scoring with an unassisted goal with 14:30 on the clock before the break.
Hyndman led 17-9 in shots on goal and had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Starting goalie Tyler Jamison had four saves and Daniel Wisnewski stopped six shots for Hyndman. The Everett goalie had six saves.
Hyndman (9-6) will play at Forbes Road on Monday.
