FROSTBURG - The Mountain Ridge High boys soccer program will begin tryouts for the 2008 season on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Any boy entering grades 9-12 at Mountain Ridge wishing to try out must have a completed physical and participation contract in order to practice. Physical and participation forms can be picked up at the Mountain Ridge High School main office Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Boys wishing to try out for the varsity squad should be at Frostburg's Glendening Park field 7, by 7:45 a.m. for the 8 to 10 a.m. practice on Saturday. Players need to wear shorts and T-shirts and have running shoes, shin guards, soccer cleats and water. A second session for varsity will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday at the school stadium field. Players need to meet at the school's gym parking lot by 5:45 p.m.
Junior varsity tryouts will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Players should be at the Glendening Park field 7, by 10:15 a.m. Players need to wear shorts and T-shirts and have running shoes, shin guards, soccer cleats and water.
