Wells shot lifts St. Frances over Mt. St. Joe’s, 66-65
Tevon Saddler got him there, but in the end it was Dayshawn Wells who delivered with a three-pointer with 1:06 left in the game to provide the winning margin in St. Frances’ down-to-the-last-play 66-65 win over Mount St. Joseph in the consolation championship game of the 53rd ACIT Saturday at Frostburg State University.

The Benedictine Cadets played their best ball when they needed to, outscoring the Gonzaga Eagles 28-9 in the fourth quarter to earn a shot at their first ACIT title after winning one half of the championship semifinals 71-53 Friday at Frostburg State University.

St. Frances, Mount St. Joe to meet for 4th time this season
It will be an all-Baltimore consolation final and a match-up of the schools that have played more ACIT games than anybody as Baltimore’s St. Frances Panthers defeated Cumberland’s Bishop Walsh and Baltimore’s Mount St. Joseph topped Hyattsville’s defending tournament champion DeMatha in Friday’s consolation semifinals at Frostburg State University.

It’s a wide open field stocked with as much talent and championship pedigree as any before it as the 53rd annual Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament tips off today, 4 p.m., when Virginia Independent Schools champion Benedictine College Prep, of Richmond, takes on Baltimore Catholic League regular-season and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association champion St. Frances Academy at Frostburg State University’s Bobcat Arena.

Romero Osby, Steven Pledger and Oklahoma’s senior class took it a step further with a perfect final month at the Lloyd Noble Center.Osby scored 26 points, Pledger chipped in 23 and the Sooners led wire to wire for their fourth straight home game, beating West Virginia 83-70 on Wednesday night. Oklahoma notched its fifth straight win at home, leading throughout every game since Feb. 9. -
Allegany wins section championship
Trenton Eirich scored 24 points and Bryce Nightengale had 20 as top-seeded Allegany built a big lead and turned back a spirited Mountain Ridge comeback to win the Class 1A West section championship, 77-64, Tuesday at Campobello.
