Fort Hill defeats Frankfort, 47-35

Jackson, Kimmel combine for 26 points

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Fort Hill bounced back from its close loss to Allegany on Wednesday with a 47-35 win at Frankfort Friday evening.

The third-ranked Sentinels put Frankfort in a hole early with a 19-8 first quarter. A 10-10 second put the margin at 11 going into halftime.

The Falcons remained cold offensively in the second half as they failed to put a dent into the deficit.

Alesha Jackson led the Sentinels with 14 points and Alexis Kimmel had 12.

Stephanie Cornachia scored 10 for the Falcons.

In the jayvee game, Frankfort prevailed 32-25 led by McKenna Miller’s 10 points. Abby Stevens scored 12 for Fort Hill.

Frankfort (8-9) hosts Southern Monday at 6 p.m.

Fort Hill (11-4) plays at Keyser Monday at 7:30 p.m.

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Chestnut Ridge left Hyndman with a win Friday night led by 20 points from MacKenzie Feather.

The Hornets scored four points in the first quarter, but bounced back with a 20-12 second to take a one-point lead into the locker room.

Hyndman started strong in the second half holding the Lions to only three points. A 21-9 fourth allowed Chestnut Ridge to retake the lead in the waning moments.

Karly Willison scored 13 and Jessica Ringler added 11 for the loss.

Hyndman (7-8) plays Monday at Calvary starting at 5:30 p.m.

CRESAPTOWN — Elizabeth Catoe scored 15 points to help New Life escape Calvary with a win Friday.

New Life came in 6-1 in the Mason-Dixon Christian Conference. It held Calvary to just eight first half points on 4-for-27 shooting.

Calvary made it a one-point game with a minute left and missed the potential game-tying free throw.

Savannah Reed led the Eagles with 13. Karly Hipsley and Kerenne Shaffer each had six points and 10 rebounds.

Calvary (11-6, 6-4 MDCC) hosts Hyndman on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

HAGERSTOWN — Kerri Kline hit three three-point goals and scored 13 points to lead St. James over Bishop Walsh Wednesday.

Madison Fahey added 12 points for the Saints (2-10).

Nicole Ross shared game-high scoring honors with Kline by scoring 13 points for Bishop Walsh (1-19). Hailey Mock chipped in with nine.

Bishop Walsh won the jayvee game 18-11. Caroline Snyder led the Spartans with seven points.

Bishop Walsh will host Hampshire tonight.
