MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Patrick Henry outscored Potomac State 43-29 in the second half to double it’s lead from halftime and win running away from the Catamounts with a 98-70 final Thursday in Martinsville.
The score remained close for much of the first half, but Patrick Henry began pulling away in the final minutes before halftime. Going into the break the Patriots held a 55-41 advantage.
Andrea Barbour scored 24 points as one of two Pats with over 20. Jasmine Alston was the other, finishing with 21. Tareka Ceasar scored 12 points, and Precious Mayberry scored 10 for a total of four players in double digit scoring.
Potomac’s leading scorer was Chelsea Holcomb with 19 points. She also led the team in rebounding with five. Brittany Skyles added 18 points, and Dezirea Clinton scored 10.
It is the fourth loss in the last five games for the Catamounts, now 2-4. PSC will try to change its fortunes when it visits Brunswick (N.C.) before going on a 2-week break.
