OAKLAND — Marquise Green’s three points in the finals second propelled Garrett to an 86-83 win over Baltimore City at home Saturday.
The Lakers led by as many as 10 in the first half. Baltimore went on a run to go up one in the waning moments. Matt Gibson’s buzzer-beating three-pointer put Garrett up 44-42 at the break.
Garrett pushed their lead to 10 again in the second half. Once again, Baltimore City battled back to tie it with 46 seconds left on Kendal Williams’ only three-pointer of the game. Marquise Green hit a bucket to make it 85-83, and he followed that with a free throw on their next possession. The Panthers’ Mike Wilson’s three-point attempt was blocked by Antonio Butler to seal the win for the Lakers.
Butler finished with 19 points and four assists. Green ended up with 15 points and nine rebounds. Guila Panzo scored 14. Gibson added 10 and four assists.
Wilson had 24 points, Justin Kuntz scored 16 and Williams finished with 10 for Baltimore City.
