CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Chase Morgan led five Wyoming East players in double figures with 17 points and the Warriors breezed to a 77-55 win over Frankfort in the Class AA quarterfinals Wednesday night.
Eighth-seeded Frankfort (13-11) jumped ahead 9-4 in the game’s first 3 minutes before top-seeded Wyoming East took over.
A 13-3 run put the Warriors ahead 40-20 just before halftime and Wyoming East led by as many as 33 points in the fourth quarter.
Alex Webb added 13 points for Wyoming East. Evan Muscari, Marcus Schofield and Andrew Bishop had 10 apiece.
Wyoming East (21-2) is looking for its third championship in four seasons.
Frankfort’s Logan Wolford led all scorers with 27 points. Frankfort had reached the tournament for the first time since 2001.
