SYRACUSE, N.Y. — C.J. Fair tipped in the go-ahead basket with 19.4 seconds left and No. 3 Syracuse rallied past No. 21 Cincinnati 57-55 on Monday.
Trailing by seven points with just over 5 minutes left, Syracuse tied it at 55 on Michael Carter-Williams' 3-pointer with 80 seconds left.
Fair's tip came after Jerami Grant drove the lane and missed. Cincinnati's Cashmere Wright missed a 3 from straight on with 2.9 seconds left and the Orange had their 35th straight win at home, the longest active streak in Division I.
Fair had 13 points for Syracuse (18-1, 6-0 Big East), which was coming off a 70-68 win at then-No. 1 Louisville.
Syracuse is 28-1 in regular-season play in the Big East the past two years, the loss at Notre Dame one year ago Monday.
Sean Kilpatrick had 21 points for the Bearcats (16-4, 4-3), who had won three straight.
GEORGETOWN 63, No. 24 NOTRE DAME 47
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Otto Porter scored 19 points to lead Georgetown over Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish's third loss in four games.
Notre Dame recorded season lows in points, field goal percentage (35 percent) and assists (11).
The Irish (15-4, 3-3 Big East) went on long stretches without scoring in both halves, while Georgetown (13-4, 3-3) shot 53 percent from the field.
It was Notre Dame's third Big East home loss over their past 24 conference home games.
Jerian Grant led Notre Dame with 13 points.
Notre Dame scored only eight points over the first 10 minutes, hitting just three of their first 10 shots from the field.
OKLAHOMA 73, TEXAS 67
NORMAN, Okla. — Romero Osby scored a career-high 29 points, Amath M'Baye had three rim-rattling dunks among his 15 points and Oklahoma snapped a six-game Red River Rivalry losing streak by beating Texas on Monday night.
Osby scored 21 of Oklahoma's 33 points during a 14½-minute stretch in the middle of the game, powering the Sooners (13-4, 4-1 Big 12) to their first win against the Longhorns since he transferred from Mississippi State.
Texas had swept both meetings last season and all three in 2011 while Osby was sitting out under NCAA transfer guidelines.
Off to its worst start in conference play since 1976, Texas (8-10, 0-5) had no answer for Osby after top rebounder Jonathan Holmes left with a right wrist injury with just under 7 minutes left in the first half. Osby checked back into the game about 3 minutes later and took over.
Sheldon McClellan came off the bench for the fourth straight game and led the Longhorns with 25 points.
