WESTERNPORT — Caleb Fazenbaker singled home Jared Wilson in the bottom of the eighth inning to keep WEPCO Federal Credit Union undefeated with a walk-off 2-1 win over Chessie FCU Tuesday evening in Westernport.
Pitching dominated from the beginning as both starters pitched all eight innings and combined for 30 strikeouts. Jacob Miller had 14 in the win while Dan Strietbeck had 16 in the loss.
Miller also hit an RBI double in the first inning and Cody Malone’s single moved Wilson into scoring position in the eighth.
Chessie got a double and a single from Josh Vanmeter, a run-scoring double from Strietbeck and another double from Josh Parrill.
On Monday, WEPCO held off a late rally to beat Frank Arnold 10-9. Fazenbaker hit two doubles, Adam Stowell added a double, single and an RBI and Dylan Burdock had one RBI on two singles. Miller and Ryan Redinger had one RBI single each and Wilson and Hunter Broadwater had two singles each.
Frank Arnold was led by Derek Noble’s two-run home run in the first inning. Noble also added a single, while Danny Sislo and Ryan Bennett both hit a double and a single. Scott Cooper contributed two singles.
Frank Arnold trailed 9-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but scored five times before getting one run and leaving the tying and winning runs on base in the seventh.
WEPCO (11-0) plays Northside at Westernport on Monday. Chessie faces Frank Arnold also on Monday.

Fort Ashby VFW 3
CRESAPTOWN — Casselman Valley broke open a one-run game with six runs in the fourth inning on its way to defeating Fort Ashby VFW 7-3 at Bel Air Field Tuesday evening.
Justin Donaldson gave Casselman Valley its 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the second inning. After taking a 7-0 lead with its big fourth inning, Ryan Vogt came on in the sixth inning to stop Fort Ashby VFW, which had scored two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth, to preserve the win for starter Kirk Davis.
Donaldson also had a base hit to go with his home run. Davis had two singles and an RBI while Brandon Miller and Dylan Benford each RBI doubles.
Fort Ashby was led by Ryan Mackey’s two base hits, Jamison Jones’ RBI double and a single by Tyler Conley.
Monday evening, Casselman Valley scored five runs over the first two innings en route to an 8-4 home victory over Personal Best at Salisbury High School.
Ryan Lynch and Davis each had two base hits with Lynch driving in a run. Brandon Miller and Alex Beiler each had RBIs while Vogt, Steven Hare and Lance Leydig all had base hits.
Mike Miller and Donaldson limited Personal Best to four hits including two singles by Josh Marcin. Dave Rinehard finished with two RBIs.
Casselman Valley (10-3) hosts Barrelville Monday evening.
