BEL AIR — Hite Roofing scored four runs in the second inning to take the lead, and scored another four in the fifth to take control over Fort Ashby VFW 10-7 Friday at Bel Air Field.
Hite Roofing had three less hits than Fort Ashby (9-6), but got them when they needed them to stay ahead. Dylan Norris and John Taylor combined to strike out nine with Norris pitching the first six innings.
Taylor added a double and a single with two RBIs, and Cody Jefferys added a double. Seth Tompkins pitched with two RBIs.
Travis Myers gave Fort Ashby the first lead when he sent a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence with a runner on first during the top of the second inning.
Kody Boyer and Trevor Korns were credited with defensive plays that secured Hite’s lead.
Hite (3-2-1) plays Sweitzer, Simson and Associates on Monday at Southern. Fort Ashby will play Chessie FCU at the Frostburg Armory on Monday.

POTOMAC PARK — Josh Neilson completed the shutout by working out of his only jam in the seventh inning during Chessie Federal Credit Union’s win at Hamilton Field.
Neilson allowed two hits to SS&A; through the first six innings, but he allowed three in the seventh. He allowed his only run of the night, and had the winning run at the plate before striking out the final hitter.
Neilson would strikeout eight and walk only one while allowing five hits.
Logan Harden hit a double and two singles to drive in a run, and Corey Greig had the final two RBIs with two suicide squeezes.
Sean Rollman delivered a RBI single in the seventh for Sweitzer’s only run.
Chessie (5-2) plays Monday at Frostburg Armory when it hosts Fort Ashby VFW. Sweitzer, Simson and Associates will play Monday at Southern against Hite Roofing.

POTOMAC PARK — KMK Insurance/Personal Best scored in every inning but the third, and worked some late inning magic to hold on for a win over Times-News Friday night at Holler Field.
KMK built a 7-0 lead before Times-News scored, but the score got as close as 9-6 following the end of the sixth. KMK scored three more times in the seventh to go ahead 12-6, but sweated the end as Times-News scored twice and had the bases loaded when Chris Stein got the final out in the seventh.
Derek Barb drove in four runs by hitting a double and a single. Brady Ellsworth knocked in three runners with a double and a triple, and Chandler Tomlinson doubled twice and drove in a run.
Times-News got a double and a single from Forhest Crass, and a triple from Tristan Beyer.
KMK (2-4) will play Wednesday at Frankfort at 6 p.m.

OAKLAND — Corey Proietti struck out the final batter of the evening with the tying and winning runs on base to secure a 9-8 win for Fort Ashby VFW in its Rec League match-up with Sweitzer, Simson and Associates Tuesday night at Southern.
Travis Myers drove a three-run home run in the third that helped his team take a 5-4 lead, and he would finish with four RBIs and added a single. Cody Spotts and Marcus Weaver both singled twice, and Colton Jones hit a double.
SS&A; got two singles and two RBIs from Andrew Sisler, and a double and a single from Cody Parsons. Evan Sweitzer, Jordan Goodge and Sean Rollman had three singles each, with Rollman scoring three runs. Tim Holler added two singles.
