FROSTBURG — Matt Farris hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Chessie Federal Credit Union the lead, and Corey Greig threw a scoreless seventh to secure a 12-9 win over Barrelville Outdoor Club Thursday evening.
Farris had a total of three hits by adding a double and a single to his homer. Greig was aboard when Farris went deep by tripling earlier in the inning, and also had an RBI of his own. Logan Harden added a triple and a double, and Josh Neilson supplied three RBIs with a double and a single. Sean Nolan contributed with a RBI single.
The first two innings were full of offense with Barrelville scoring four times in the top of the first inning, and Chessie countering with three in the bottom half. Barrelville then scored five times in the second, with Chessie going for 4 to put the score at 9-7 after the second.
