CUMBERLAND — Chandler Tomlinson and Chris Wilson helped pitch Fort Cumberland Post 13 to a sweep of Morgantown Post 2 Sunday in American Legion baseball action.
Tomlinson fired a five-hitter in the opener and was backed by 16 hits as Fort Cumberland broke open a 2-0 game with a six-run third on its way to a 9-2 victory.
In the second game, Chris Wilson came on in the second inning and shut down Morgantown by allowing just three hits as Fort Cumberland came from behind to get the sweep, 16-8, and improve its record to 3-1.
Tomlinson had seven strikeouts and Wilson five.
Jeff Conley, Zach Hare and Cody Weese each had three hits in the opener and Brennan Conley, Hare, Derek Barb and Shane Malloy had three hits apiece in the second game.
Overall, Fort Cumberland combined for 34 hits while giving up 15.
Post 13 plays Moorefield’s Potomac Valley Thursday, 5:30 p.m., at Legion Field.
