CRESAPTOWN — Bryce Nightengale struck out 12 batters in a three-hit shutout to lead Riverside Sports over Lakeview Auto Parts, 8-0, in Game One of the Hot Stove League Championship Series on Monday at Hamilton Field.
Riverside scored two runs each in the second, fifth, sixth and seventh innings to give Nightengale plenty of run support.
Catcher Brett Fuzie hit three singles and drove in two runs. Charlie Twigg had three RBIs on two singles, Nightengale helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs and lead-off hitter Brady Hillegas got on base four times and scored two runs.
Aaron Rodeheaver hit a triple, while Trevon Jones and Brett Oates each had singles to account for all of Lakeview’s offense.
Game Two of the best-of-three series will be Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Hamilton Field.
