POTOMAC PARK — Shane Peck went 4-for-4 and Madigan’s Auto rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Cork’s Cars, 8-7, Saturday at Holler Field to advance in the Hot Stove League playoffs.
Madigan’s (17-6-1) led 4-1 early but trailed 7-4 entering the sixth inning when Scott Cooper and Tristan Nesselrodt began the rally with singles. Peck and Scott Bittinger had RBI singles to make it 7-6. Josh Wotring singled home the tying run and the go-ahead run scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Cody Sliger.
Both teams had 13 hits. Peck had four singles and Jacob Taylor two singles to lead Madigan’s. Danny Sislo had four singles and two RBIs, Logan Stewart tripled and singled and Cody Myers and Derek Getson doubled for Cork’s Cars.
Cork’s had taken a 7-4 lead with a five-run fifth highlighted by a two-run single by Evan Rodeheaver.
Bittinger got the win and struck out six in six innings. Peck pitched a scoreless seventh for a save.
Madigan’s won the best-of-three series between the Oakland teams 2 games to 1 and will play Culver Design in a three-game semifinal series that begins Monday, at 5:30, at Holler Field.

Hobo’s Restaurant 3
POTOMAC PARK — Salisbury jumped on top quickly with seven runs in the first three innings and Mike Miller and Alex Beiler teamed for a two-hitter at Hamilton Field to lead the Legion past Hobo’s Restaurant and into the Hot Stove League semifinals.
Hobo’s led briefly, 3-2, after the first inning, but was held scoreless the rest of the way by Miller, who pitched the first three innings, and Beiler, who worked the final four. Each had two strikeouts.
Cody Dice had two singles and an RBI, Mike Miller two singles, Brandon Miller a single and two RBIs and Nathan Hutzell an RBI single for Salisbury, which had seven singles and won the best-of-three series 2 games to 1.
Dan Wisnewski and Micah Stair had singles to account for the only Hobo’s hits.
Salisbury will face the Cresaptown Eagles in the first game of their best-of-three semifinal series on Monday, at 5:30, at Hamilton Field.
