BEL AIR — After moving the venue and delaying the start, the rain left long enough for Hite Roofing to collect a 3-1 win over Fort Ashby VFW Friday in Rec League baseball at Bel Air.
John Taylor struck out 10, walked one and allowed only four hits in earning the complete game win.
Kody Boyer staked Taylor a two-run lead in the fifth when he doubled home one run while a second scored on a throwing error. Scott Rice drove in the third run with a single in the sixth inning.
Ethan Landis scored Fort Ashby’s run when he singled and scored on a Travis Myers double. Cody Weese also hit a double.
Hite Roofing (7-4-1) will play again on Monday, against Chessie Federal Credit Union, at the Frostburg Armory. Fort Ashby VFW will play at home on Wednesday against Sweitzer, Simson and Associates.
