Jeremy Shingler, WEPCO shut out Times-News, 5-0

CUMBERLAND — Jeremy Shingler threw all seven innings, allowing five hits and striking out six in WEPCO Federal Credit Union’s 5-0 shutout of Times-News Friday at Allegany College in Rec League action.

The WEPCO half of the second inning saw the first three runs scored, while the final two were scored in the fifth. Adam Stowell delivered a double, and Tom Holtschneider hit two singles to drive in one run. Justin Shaw, Ryan Reddinger and Jordan Dye all had a RBI single.

Aaron O’Rourke had two of Times-News five hits with a pair of singles.

WEPCO improves to 11-1 with a meeting with Chessie Federal Credit Union coming in Westernport on Monday. Times-News also plays Monday when it faces Hite Roofing at Bel Air Field.
